Killswitch Engage release "Collusion" video from latest album
Metalcore kings Killswitch Engage are back with their newest album This Consequence, another masterclass in melodic metal and emotional intensity. It is a record that finds the now legacy band still finding ways to push their classic NWOAHM sound forward, Jesse even throwing some death metal lows in on parts of the new video for "Collusion" below.
The band pair some They Live vibes (territory once also mined by former Metal Blade alumni Three in a music video, I'd add) with some stirring calls to not be so quickly pushed around by ruling powers. I'll always love KSE and also enjoyed meeting Jesse once at my old job in Woodstock and talking about our shared love of Bad Brains. It has been so thrilling to see these guys grow bigger and bolder year after year.
Just a heartfelt and focused group determined to try and bring people together through metalcore's power. It was the first time the band hashed things out in a room together since the earliest days, and you can kind of tell from some of the energy!
I relate to these lines a lot:
Appropriation of a subversive sound
The revolution can't be contained by a fascist system enslaved
to the belief that resistance will fade
